It requires social structures such as an adequate childcare system and resources for women who need to leave abusive homes. We all also need to stop sharing jokes and memes that suggest it’s humorous for people of any gender to deal with the stresses they’re up against by imbibing carcinogens.

California remains one of the most expensive states to live in, according to a recent Creditnews Research study that found America's middle class is being priced out. In the report that asked, "Can America's Middle Class Still Afford Homeownership in 2024? ", the independent research house studied the relationship between income distribution and housing costs across America's 100 most populous metropolitan areas to find the most and least affordable places for the middle class. The least affordable metro areas were almost entirely on the Pacific coast. Five of the 10 least affordable metro areas are in California.

It shows a curated look at women embracing domesticity as the antithesis of what other young women are experiencing, who are "working hard and barely scraping by," said Casey Lewis, a social media trend forecaster. Evidence shows this is something few women are actually doing, and it's not a realistic lifestyle to aspire to. These vestal get-ups are, in fact, the latest in a long line of subversive pop culture interpretations of the lives (and loves) of nuns. More recently, Bella Hadid walked the Coperni Fall-Winter 2022 runway wearing headgear reminiscent of a nun’s habit. The “Nunsploitation” subgenre saw the transformation of nuns from icons of piety and sacrifice into harbingers of evil and sexual obsession. In lighter fare, “Sister Act 3,” a third movie in the beloved “Sister Act” series of the 1990s starring Whoopi Goldberg is currently in development. “The juxtaposition of the nun’s habit with either blatant sexuality or the cultivation of personal identity and style is shocking and grabs people’s attention,” wrote Dr. Neal.

Your boss could soon be fined for contacting you after hours under new legislation in California. If the bill becomes law, any employer that violates it could face a fine of at least $100. At least 10 other countries including France, Canada and Portugal have laws supporting workers' "right to disconnect." The bill only regulates employers in California, so remote workers in California reporting to out-of-state employers are not counted in the bill. Instead, he hopes it encourages employers to have "transparent, upfront" conversations with employees about when and how they work.
